ZOO AR

Date & Location

January 2018 - June 2018
Taipei City, Taiwan

When augmented reality meets the zoo guide.

The four main pain points for zoo guides are:

  1. It is difficult to obtain current information about the zoo, such as guest flow.

  2. It's hard to locate animals when they are hiding.

  3. It's also challenging to share photos, videos, and audio with outdoor guests.

  4. It's not easy to remember all the accurate numbers of animal information.

If we can combine interpretation with the latest AR technology, we can send information in "fun ways". Connecting visitors with zoos by enhancing the experience they have during interacting with interpretation, which is the most important task for zoo educators, to "change information into knowledge". Combining the interpretations with AR makes the information movable, interactive, and interesting. It can also show different content for different ages or native languages. In the future, people can wear glasses while visiting zoos.
