SPECIAL SHELL @ LANYANG
Date & Location
March - November, 2022
Yilan, Taiwan
Travel with shells from Lanyang to the world.
The phylum Mollusca, being the second largest in the animal kingdom, is characterized by immense diversity and abundance. Given Taiwan's coastal location, mollusks are prevalent and well-known creatures in the region. Yilan, featuring a diverse terrain of mountains, plains, and sea with varied currents, stands out as one of the most diverse locations for Mollusca worldwide, boasting a rich biodiversity of terrestrial and aquatic mollusks. As an exhibit designer at Green Country Inc., I had the privilege of wholeheartedly contributing to this exhibition project, a notable endeavor that I fully participated in.
Throughout this project, I worked as an exhibit designer and was actively involved in the curation phase. My responsibilities included selecting shells, determining how they would be displayed, and collaborating with a team of zoologists. I also ensured effective communication and coordination among various stakeholders, ranging from museum staff to construction personnel. My involvement spanned the entire design process, from curation to concept development and schematic design, resulting in the production of comprehensive design documents to guide the subsequent design detailing phase. Additionally, I played an active role in designing visual and graphic elements crucial for interpretation and brand identity, and later took on the duties of a construction manager during the on-site construction phase.
